Molinard, founded in Grasse in 1849, called upon René Lalique to design a bottle for their new perfume, Calendal, named for a collection of poems by Frédéric Mistral. As well as the luxurious recipent adorned with four caryatids, launched in spring 1928, Lalique also designed another flacon, this one round and decorated with a rondeau of nacked women, reminiscent of his famous Bacchantes vase, (1927).
The two bottles both have a semi-sherical stopper adorned with flowers. The second bottle also came in vaporiser version.
