New edition of a model created in 1937 by René Lalique

For the 1937 International exhibition of arts and technology in modern life, René Lalique created two fountains, one named Poissons (Fish) and a more monumental fountain entitled Jet d’Eau (Water jet). They are among the artist’s final works. Their geometric composition and lighting system fit perfectly with the artistic and architectural developments of the day, yet they retain the classicism and light, poetic spirit so typical of René Lalique. The glass bubbles embedded in the mass are a metaphor illustrating the relationship between glass, light and water.
