Created in 1929

In 1929, René Lalique was commissioned by the Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-lits to design this statuette, which was presented at the inauguration of the Côte d’Azur Pullman Express in 1929. René Lalique also designed decorative panels for this exclusive train, featuring blackbirds and grapes or bacchantes and pipe players, and marquetry combining wood and glass representing bouquets of flowers.
